Public Speaking:
Christine happily attends Career Day and public speaking opportunities at elementary, middle grade, and high schools to talk to kids about the importance of following their passion when thinking about the future:
"There are so many jobs out there! Most students don't know about half the opportunities available until they start looking for a full-time position. I like to remind students that their passions may change as they follow them because careers evolve. Look at the publishing world as an example—we went from traditional publishing to self-publishing to indie publishing, and every opportunity in-between with ebooks, audiobooks, and paperbacks."
Backstory:
Christine has been writing stories since she was in grade 11. Before her debut novel THE HIDDEN LEGACY was published in 2016, Christine had already written three full-length novels. She calls these her "practice runs" because like anything in life, we have to practice something to improve and grow. Writing is no exception.
With a background in advertising, media, and digital marketing, Christine has written for online magazines and websites such as Parsel, Telfie, Voice of TV, Student Life Network, Campus Guides, and VIDA Select.

Canadian teen fiction author Christine Rees is a Western University graduate, Sheridan alumni, and lover of all literature. Christine spends most of her time traveling, writing books, and hiking with her dog. She is also an admitted tv junkie who has a problem binge-watching shows as they come out.
Christine's debut paranormal novel, THE HIDDEN LEGACY—published with Evernight Teen in December 2016—won the 2017 Raven Award for Favorite New & Young Adult and hit #1 on Amazon Canada's Best Seller List. Its sequel, THE BROKEN RIVALRY, won 2 Book Of The Year Awards in 2020.
JUST LIKE THE MOVIES—a short novella in Evernight Teen's KISSED anthology—is Christine's first contemporary teen romance.
